Mindset Online
One of the most exciting new ideas for parents, teachers, and everyone else, concerns the importance and the changeable nature of people’s mindsets. In our writing, we frequently refer to Carol Dweck’s work showing the power of growth mindsets to address problems associated with perfectionism, negative self-image, and many other factors that affect our ability to enjoy our lives, and succeed as well as we might. This link is to one of many sites you can take a look at to learn more about this.
The Children’s Book Bank
This is an inspirational site – a registered charity that offers free books and literacy support to children in low-income neighbourhoods in Toronto. Housed in a welcoming spot in the downtown core, the Children’s Book Bank provides new and gently used books (free!) to children and their families who might otherwise not have access to them. See what a cadre of volunteers can accomplish when they collaborate and persist!
